The Raindrops Crew

Raindrops Gardening Crew

Along our journey, we've been blessed with exceptional crew members. Without their strength and loyalty, Raindrops wouldn't be where it is today. If you're a current or future client, you'll always be assured that no one cares the way our crews do.

I grew up in a 110 year old farmhouse in Pasadena, California. Vividly I can recall three important things from my childhood. First, the garden my mother had which wrapped around the front porch and featured things like agapanthus and hydrangeas. Second, my maternal grandfather working in his garden everyday during the summer. Happily he would reward himself by taking a nap next to the kumquat tree in the afternoons. Third, my paternal grandparents eagerly sitting on their garden patio promptly at 4:30 for happy hour. It wouldn’t be until later in my life that I would come to fully appreciate something as significant and personal as a garden.

In 2002 my husband and I purchased our first home in Silverthorne, CO. I can’t begin to tell you how excited we were to plan and install our first garden. Over the years, as the garden grew and changed, I realized with pride that my garden was really a way for people to get to know me, without ever having met me. My view on a loved garden is that it’s a reflection of who lives inside the hocuse. Every time someone walks to our front door, or friends sit on our deck for dinner, I am truly honored to surround them in my love which manifests itself in the form of my garden. As John Howard Payne wrote in 1822, “Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam, be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home.”

I am a true Colorado native, born and raised in the majestic mountains we call home. I am most passionate about my family, friends and my bloodhound-lab mix affectionately referred to as a “lound”. Snowboarding, outdoor living, and learning something new everyday is what keeps me ticking.

During the winter months I am a snowboard school supervisor at Copper Mountain and an AASI trainer. While I love the snow more than most people, working with Raindrops has taught me to appreciate the summer months as well. I greatly enjoy making the world a prettier place with an amazing crew!

I gained an enjoyment of gardens growing up in New Hampshire. Each spring I participated in an agricultural 4-H program and was given an assortment of plants to plant in a section of my parents’ large garden. Taking care of that little garden space grew into a love for plants of all sorts. I especially enjoy growing and caring for vegetable gardens.

During the winter I snowboard as much as possible. I also enjoy live music and can be found at Red Rocks Amphitheatre several times during the summer.

My favorite June tradition is the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I have two darling dogs that enjoy hiking and swimming, and on most days I can be persuaded to join them!

All the places I have lived has always had a variety of plants inside and out, and now living at high altitude I'm learning the many differences and similarities of Northern New England to Colorado!
